Dean Agus Band
"Dean Agus Band" is a group of well-rounded musicians hailing from central Arkansas in the hometown of Hot Springs National Park. Formerly known as "Crash Meadows", the band won several regional competitions, guest hosted on nearly every major radio station in their home market, and frequently performed on channel 7's "Good Morning Arkansas" for a record, six times in 2 years. Having participated in many benefits, showcases, and concerts...Crash Meadows had also earned the right to open for some well-known signed acts such as "Blues Traveler" and "Confederate Railroad" to name a couple.
Presently known to everyone as "Dean Agus Band" or in short, "DAB". The group performed in nearly every venue in and around their local scene. DAB has taken the act on the road playing shows for various events, competitions, charities & benefits, as well as festivals, and much more. One festival in Summer of 08' included acts such as Arkansas native "Tracy Lawrence", and well-known and respected female rocker "Joan Jett and the Blackhearts".
DAB is well known for pleasing audiences of all ages and performs a very wide list of music genre's ranging from mo-town, blues favorites & classic rock hits, to today's more modern pop/rock & alternative material. DAB is much more than just capable of playing so many styles, they've set a foot-mark on their much-respected and requested original tunes. With a songwriter duo that includes brothers' Dean Agus and Medo Agus, there is just the right combination to form the chemistry it takes to write emotional driven material, as well as creative grooves with plenty of soul-pounding melodies to be heard from front man vocalist Dean Agus.
DAB continues to impress, and quickly becoming one of the area's hottest must-see acts around. One of DAB's accomplishments included grazing the front cover of "Arkansas Times Magazine" in late March, by beating the odds in the "2007' Arkansas Times Original Musician Showcase Competition".The showcase included some major talent from the local region. Some several thousand music demos were sent to this popular annual showcase, and only 20 bands were chosen to compete a half an hour set of all original material for a crowd of many fans from everywhere, and a panel of judges who scored the performances by different categories such as crowd response, stage presence, etc. DAB' impressed the judges enough in the semi-final round to move on as one of the final five bands remaining. Being the only band performing in the finals to not call the Little Rock area their home, may have played a factor in not pulling off the overall victory. However, a quite pleasing and surprising crowd from their hometown of Hot Springs followed the band to it's last and latest show of the evening...and the band managed to squeak within several points of second place. It was still quite an accomplishment.
Another great feat for the band included within a day's notice, In October of 2007, DAB managed to win the a 1st place trophy for the "1st Annual Magic Springs- Battle of the Bands Competition", earning them the right to share the stage with 90's hit band "Spin Doctors" at the last concert event of the year in August of 08'.
The "Dean Agus Band" is fueled by brothers' Dean Agus (acoustic guitar/lead vocals) and Medo Agus (lead guitar), Daniel Keith (bass guitar/vocals), and Hampton Taliaferro (drums/vocals).
